An emersion into design. As an artist with an extensive journal practice that continuously theorizes artworks, I wonder how much of that work is design? Is design calculation? What do these pieces propose--if design is a proposal process? I found myself making lines for hours. Imbedding design into a x by y balsa sheets. The brown ink cut through the grain as it followed an architectural scale ruler. Architecture presented itself as a possibility to expand my practice-- to question my need for an MFA.
